Seniori

For pupils and young people aged 11 to 19 who build systems with real-world application. Seniori is the category closest to professional development: technical decisions, documentation and a presentation in front of industry experts.

Who is the Seniori
category for?

01

Students and older pupils

For teams who have the basics behind them and want a project that feels like real working experience: from concept to a demonstration of a working system.

02

Technical maturity

The category assumes teams can make technical decisions on their own, plan their development and communicate without constant guidance from a mentor.

03

Presenting to professionals

The Seniori jury includes industry experts. The team should defend its technical decisions and communicate the value of its solution clearly.

The 2026 challenge

Competition theme

The team develops a system with a clear real-world application: in logistics, medicine, industry, urban mobility or another field. The demonstration is the heart of the performance.

The 2026 theme is technology with real-world application: a system that solves a concrete problem and can be demonstrated to the jury with measurable results.

The jury assesses not only the technical execution but also the team's grasp of the context: why this problem matters, which alternative approaches were considered and what the team plans as the next step in development.

Detailed rules will be published before the event. This information is general guidance for planning your project.

Types of project that fit

  • An autonomous or semi-autonomous system for a specific task
  • A robotic system integrated with sensors and data processing
  • A prototype demonstrated under controlled conditions
  • A system with a defined measure of success
  • A solution that can be scaled or applied more widely

What to prepare

Preparation checklist for teams
01

A working prototype

A system that can be demonstrated to the jury behaving for real, not only as a simulation or a visualisation.

02

Technical documentation

A description of the system architecture, the key technical decisions and the testing. The jury may ask for details during questions.

03

A defined application

A clearly stated problem you are solving, the target user and measurable indicators of how well the system works.

04

Team roles and division of work

Who led which parts of the project. The jury may ask each member separately about the part they led.

05

Preparation for questions

Practise answering technical and contextual questions: why you chose this approach and what you ruled out.

06

Entry and logistics

Enter your team before the deadline, confirm your equipment list and plan how to transport the system to Sava Centar.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ · Seniori
Is a mentor required?

No. The Seniori category is designed for teams competing independently. One of the team members is the contact for organisational matters.

What level of knowledge is needed?

You need to be able to develop and demonstrate a working system, and to defend your technical decisions before a specialist jury.

Does the system have to be original?

An original application or approach counts for a great deal. Using well-known platforms is allowed as long as the team explains clearly what its own contribution is.

How long does a performance last?

The exact format and duration will be set out in the rules and in your confirmation of participation. It includes the demonstration and a question-and-answer session.

Who sits on the jury?

The Seniori jury includes experts from industry, academic institutions and, where applicable, representatives of the event's partners.

Where do we send questions?

Use the contact form on the site. The organisers will pass your query to the person responsible for the Seniori category.
